Congratulations to Alex Garcia, one of the new STC Associate Fellows!
For those who don’t know, Associate Fellow is the second highest of the three honorary ranks in the Society, with Fellow being the highest. Associate Fellows retain this honorary rank for life unless they are elevated to the rank of Fellow. The rank of Associate Fellow recognizes members for their outstanding achievements in and contributions to the arts and science of technical communication, and for sustained and significant service to STC. Every year, Senior Members submit their credentials to the STC Associate Fellows Committee which considers their qualifications, contributions, and achievements of Senior Members. The Committee then holds a vote for each Senior Member and, upon a 2/3 majority vote, conferred the rank of Associate Fellow on them.
Here’s his citation from STC’s announcement:
Alex Garcia
Citation: For your contributions to aerospace system documentation as an engineer and technical communicator, for mentoring new professionals, for continuous contributions as a Chapter and Society leader, and for your passion for diversity and inclusion.
Congratulations again, Alex!
