The STC Florida chapter will be hosting an introverted leadership panel on November 17 at 6:30pm EST. During this panel, our panelists will share how being introverted impacted their leadership, how they lead, the intersection between tech comm and introversion, how they lead introverted leaders, and more.

Meet the Panelists

There are many misconceptions about introverts and many feel challenged on the journey to leadership. We are thrilled to welcome several well-known introverted leaders from across the Society for Technical Communication as our panelists. Please read their bios below to get to know them!

Ben Woelk

Ben Woelk, CISSP, CPTC, is governance, awareness, and training manager in the Information Security Office at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he’s responsible for content strategy, security awareness, and program management. He is also an adjunct professor at RIT, where he teaches courses in cyber security policy and law, technical writing, and introverts and leadership. Ben is a 2022 Fellow and a past president of the Society for Technical Communication, where he worked to ensure an impactful and sustainable organization that serves members and the greater technical communication community. In his Hope for the Introvert Podcast, he shares a series of conversations with and about introverted leaders, their strengths, and how they apply them in the workplace and other parts of life.

Lori Meyer

Lori Meyer is an STC Fellow and technical communication specialist with more than 25 years of experience designing, writing, and editing documentation for user assistance. Lori began her technical communication career as a technical editor and has been involved in editing and peer reviewing throughout her career as a writer. She is a technical writer at a cybersecurity firm in northern California and has an MS degree in instructional technology from Rochester Institute of Technology. Lori is a member of STC Florida and many other STC chapters and SIGs. She is currently serving on the STC Board of Directors and is Chair of the STC Community Affairs Committee.

Nick Ducharme

Technical Writer III at Sagent

Nick Ducharme is a technical writer in the financial services industry. He creates documentation and release notes for mortgage servicing products that help borrowers and servicers successfully manage the lifecycle of loans. Formerly, he wrote hardware and software technical documentation for aerospace products at Lockheed Martin. He has served in a leadership capacity in the Florida Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication as Acting President, Vice President, Director at Large, Communications Chair, and Editor for the chapter’s Memo to Members newsletter. He has a bachelor’s degree in English—Technical Communication from the University of Central Florida. He and his husband just bought their first home in DeLand, Florida.

Sarah Feldman

Sara is a Cross-Functional Customer Experience enthusiast. Her background includes Technical Content Strategy, Knowledge Management, Customer Success Enablement, and Training. She is passionate about all things Content and currently serves as Director of Member Engagement for the Consortium for Service Innovation, a nonprofit think tank focused on customer engagement. She enjoys naps, saying cheers, making herself laugh, and working from home in Las Vegas.

Todd Deluca

Todd DeLuca is a Technical Communications professional with 20 years experience as a senior-level writer and manager in documentation, content management, and release delivery for IT software (financial services) and hardware systems. Todd currently helps manage policies and procedures at the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) in Golden, CO.

Todd has been an active volunteer leader and is an Associate Fellow with the Society for Technical Communication (STC). He has also chaired the STC Summit conference and was President of the Philadelphia Metro Chapter.
